It was on the news here that a student found 1,000,000 pesos and returned it the owner. This is highly commendable. When put in a similar situation, honestly, I will have some serious thoughts. But turning it to the local police for proper disposal? that may make it even more difficult. What guarantee do I have, that it will be returned to the rightful owner.
What do you think?

Cops are supposed to serve and protect. Some people are asking for their help in finding the owner of lost and found items. I don't know how cops are looked upon in your part of the world, but here, not all of them can be trusted. Chances are they will keep it to themselves anyway, so why not keep it. LOL
cheers.

That was the nice thing by the kid to introduce the police into the scene. They could be of sure help to identify the owner and handing it to him.If one suspects the honesty of the officers,he could give the news to the papers and at the same time ask some people to accompany him, when handing it to the police.Personally,I don't like to have that much money. If it is some cents or a dollar,I will keep it to myself.Cheers!

A great integrity kid. If this happen to me, I don't know what will I do. But most probably will return back, because I alway tell myself I want to be a great businessman so I need to have great integrity, cannot be greedy. And I am still training myself on my integrity.
But I won't know what will I do if I really found 100,000.

To be honest, i don't know.
I would be afraid to keep it, in case i got into trouble, for stealing it, so i would probably hand it in, and hope it got back to the rightful owner.
That is the annoying part, if it did not get back to the owner, then where would it end up?
Difficult one, but i would probably opt to hand it over.
