Whenever there is any Election comes, the first person to vote will be my husband. he is very particular in exercising his franchise and says that it is the moral duty of any citizen to vote and see that our Nation should be handled by the right person and compel us to go and vote. Do you go and exercise your franchise during the time of election?

Hi Deepa Very happy to see that within no time you have completed your century. This shows your interest and enthusiasm. keep it up. Your grandpa is correct. We have to utilise our franchise and elect a right person who will govern our country well.

Yes I do. In my house in the ordinary days, all of us have our own works and priorities. But on the day of Election, all of us go to the voting booths together like attending a function and vote and come. It will be like a celebration, calling each other, fixing the time and assembling in our house and going together chit chatting, laughing and joking. I enjoy this sort of get together for a purpose.

It is indeed enjoyable. In some villages or rural places, people especially women folk think that voting is an auspicious thing and they get up early in the morning, wear their best clothes esp. silk sari comb their hair and decorate their plait with some fresh flowers, decorate their threshhold with some special rangolis, go to temples then finally go to the polling booth. After coming back they talk about how they elected their favourite party and feel happy and think that they have achieved a great thing.
