As we all know, the time for candy collecting is fast approaching. Last year I felt bad because I was taking my girls out trick or treating, and there was no one home to hand out candy. So to make myself feel better, I left a bowl of candy on the step. Now, it was my thought that the parents taking their children out, would make certain that they followed the instructions I left behind: PLEASE TAKE 2, AND LEAVE SOME FOR THE OTHER TRICK OR TREATERS, THANKS! When I returned not 10 minutes later, (I had forgotten to bring something along for the girls to drink) the candies were gone, the sign was ripped into tiny pieces and my pumpkin was smashed! Now I know that there were a lot of kids out in my area as I only went half a block before turning back, so there was no way the candies were being taken properly. Has this ever happened to you? What would you do? What should I do this year? Any suggestions?

I know you want other children to be happy. But first things first. Go with your kids and have fun trick or treating. When you get home and there are still children going around for their halloween spree, then you can have fun giving with your children.
