How do you save money while grocery shopping?

in our place, we don't have the coupons that some respondents are talking about. what i do is compare prices of commodities. they are placed side by side in the grocery stores and i compare as to price in relation to its weight. i also keep an eye on items that come with additional bonus (be it in additional quantity or an additional free item coming out with the package) and always on tabs of the expiry dates. we list down items to be bought in the grocery and try to limit within the list. we do one-time shopping each week. that saves us gas or transportation cost.

I do the same. Lately I've been trying a lot more store brand products over the name brand. It is amazing how much you can save on just one item with little to no taste difference at all! For the past few weeks I have also been clipping coupons and really watching the sale papers. It gets really good when you have coupons and something is on sale - especially if there is a store in your area that does "double coupons" like the Kroger grocery store here.

Grocery shopping is one place that i do not save very much. I buy all organic. I do this for health reasons for me and my family. What i do not save here i save on our health care costs.

I utilize a variety of strategies. Coupons - online and printed varieties. Store specials. Most stores have additional savings at their online sites. Of course using the store savings card. I do buy some dry goods items in bulk. I buy freezer items in bulk but less so than other things because of storage space and freezer burn. I purchased a food saver and it has really cut down on problems with freezer burn. I do buy some generics too. I just use a variety of approaches to try and cut back where I can.

While grocery shopping,I usually just stick to my shopping list only....that's can save a lot and just go to supermarket only twice a month :D
