I smell something fishy...

Did you ever encountered a task in some earning sites that are highly suspicious? I saw a task in a certain earning website with a subject "Make Friends". This is a task that requires you to give personal information about you. This was to be done by 150 people and amazingly 125 people had finished the task. You'll be required to upload your personal picture, full name, age, address, country where you live, hobbies and interest and lastly your MSN and yahoo mails(just to drop you a Hi!). Am I just paranoid or your with me in saying that it is somewhat suspicious?

You have to be so careful some want to know your phone number ,why if you are contacting through email. Why do they even need to know your address. If they want to know to much then the alarm bells should ring, especially if they want to know bank details then it is a big no.Take care my friend.

I'm a bit late in responding to this one but still can't help not responding to a sweet lady like you
Anyway we should be mindful of the personal details we share online.

I would not give that information to an individual you never know what could happen. It does seem very suspicious to me. This is not a task just someone who want people personal information.

I'm with you. I wouldn't give away my personally identifying details so easily. At least I'd want to know the reason why they're being asked for. I share most of that information with online earning sites I suppose, but it seems alarming to give it to an individual for no apparent purpose. It's definitely suspicious.

The funny thing is that he says his purpose was to make friends. I find it very lame. If I want to make friends in the internet I wouldn't pay for it. Having friends online or offline is the same in some instance specially friendship is free.

Oh no, no, no....I'm to skeptical to do something like that.
It's too easy for someone to download or copy your picture, name, address, country, etc. onto a license or credit card or whatever.
No Thank You, I would never do that at all. Asking for that much information just sounds like you said, fishy, or phishy if you know what I mean. I would be to nervous to do this, and I don't see any reason for all that information to be given out, especially to a stranger.

I saw that one on there too. It has been on there for quite awhile. I actually thought about doing it but providing fake info, fake pic, etc. I would probably give my real email, though, just so I could maybe find out what kind of scam this person is up to. I would never give my real info.

I wouldn't risk faking personal info because if he rejects the tasks it would greatly reflect on my performance. I'd rather ignore and don't accept the job:)

It does smell fishy. I do not think that you are paranoid. Yahoo and MSN accounts can be hacked, and this could be the reason why the task provider asked for them. I am not making an accusation, just mentioning one of the possibilities.
The information obtained can be used for future spamming, or other dark activities. As it is one of email addresses is used for spamming by one site. Recipients thought that I am the owner, and one sent me a rather harsh email.
Caution should be the keyword.

I was afraid of spamming but it did not occur to me that I could be hacked until you mentioned it. I hope this discussion serves as a warning for others who had encounter this kind of situations
