If you would have to choose to live the following years, which of the bellow options you'll consider and why : - a small simple house with basic facilities, with a small backyard and outside of the city ? - A big large luxury flat, full facilities, in the middle of the city, but at the last floor of a 45 floors skyscarper ?

I left the noise, the traffic and the stress of living in the suburbs outside of Washington, D.C. to move to the outskirts of a small town in south central Florida where the pace is slower and there is no such thing as stress....so I would choose door #1...a small simple house outside of the city. I don't like that lifestyle anymore. At one time I did...I was very competitive and relished winning at the game of life...but then I wanted something different. Peace and quiet.

Is a lot of stress to live in the middle of the ruch .. al there is moving faster and once you start loosing velocity, you loose ground and people behind you start to step over you to go forward .. is rough .. On the other hand while you were living near Washington DC, why didn't you choosed to go live in that small house painted white ? At least for 4 years .. could have been a nice experience, isn't it ? And while there, you could DECIDE to be pece and quiet ...

Actually, I lived in several houses while I was in that area. The one I shared with my ex for 17 years was brick, the one I bought myself after the relationship ended had tan siding. I didn't run away to the peace and quiet of Florida until I was in my late 40's.

I'm choosing the small house. I'm afraid of grounds. Yes, you got that right - I'm not afraid of heights, because if you fall it's the grounds that kill you. Not to mention how often the elevators seem to be breaking in our most beloved city - would you want to go up 45 floors on stairs...

Well, if elevators are down - which I wonder how often is happen on sky-scarpers - you can always hire a big guy to "transport" you till 45-th .. yet sure you must explain very carefully to that big-tall guy you want to go to 45-th floor and not to "taste" a .45 caliber ..

First one, most definitely. I have always loved a simple country house amidst nature and simplicity. The fact that I have never been into such kind of locale has made me passionate for the same. I do cherish every bit I enjoy with the sky, greens and water. It's very less though.

Hi wmraul, I'm definitely not going for the sky scraper, you can keep that, I'm not fond of lifts as I always feel I've left my stomach behind when they go up and forty five flights of stairs is way too much. So I'll stick with the simple house which doesn't have any stairs and no spying neigbhours.

All our souls crave that peaceful little house in the country away from the rat race of the big city. Reality is that if you are really old, the city is better. There is no yard work and emergency services are always close by.
