Crime during this recession period is rising very high. We are used to hearing about the petty violent criminal, who takes a gun and tries to rob the conveiniance store or even a bank but what about the white collar criminal?
The damage of the white collar is as great or even greater than the average criminal who is trying to steal 1 thousand.
Mark Sanford and Bernie Mandoff epitomize the greed and opulence of the corporate world that government is trying to reign in. Sandord and Mandoff defrauded investors and working people for billions of dollars. Companies like Enron and Citigroup have reportedly skimmed millions fron their share holders.
Are corporate criminals worse than your everyday bandit? Do they cause more harm?

The government is trying to REIGN IN these crimninals? Are you kidding? They are acomplices to criminals. The SEC looked the other way while Madoff ran off with billions. And lets talk about T.A.R.P. not only do Bush, Bernakie and Paulson have a major hand in it, but so do every congressional member who voted for it (McCain and Obama to name two). then as if that wasn't bad enough, when the government handed AIG execs their obscene bonuses on a silver platter, these same congressman had the GALL to feign outrage over it and attemp to pass an unconstitutional resolution to get those bonuses back.
These criminals have been scamming us for years, there are maybe a tiny handfull of people in D.C. who don't have their hands dirty in the slow devistation of our monetary system and the constitution.
There is very little distinction now between government and white collar criminals.
Note:
Incidentaly, Sanford is a governor, not a corperate criminal, I think you may have him confused with someone else, though he did enough to warrent being booted out of office, but thats an issue for the people of south carolina.

Impressive Xfactor. True the government id filled with greedy Human beings also. Thats why people believe its so important to believe in Obama to bring some measure of fairness. Obama is not a sure fire win as the Olympics showed. But we believe his desire and skill enough to have hope.
Ye I was talking about Allan Samford I believe I will look up his name later when I transfer articles Factor check my articles on AC to see my indepth views.

ah, got ya....no worries, i have pulled more than my fair share of typo's, lol.
As to Obama, he is no better than the rest of them. He has continued many of the same policies from the last administration, he signed off on T.A.R.P. and he is just another establishment politician like the rest of them. You are pinning your hopes on the wrong guy. As much as I would liked to have believed he would be different, as much as I hoped deep down he might be, too many things out there demonstrate other wise. In short, our country got duped again. So much for change.

Corporate criminals are not as bad as your average convenience store criminal. Financially wise, sure, they may provoke more damages than those who make simple robberies but then again what are the chances of them taking out the lives of others just because they don't get what they want in that minute?

In some ways its a same that petty criminals do not try to get their nerve up to go for higher standards or to use their extensive criminal skills to to mastering more productive enterprises. The only thing they know how to do is strongarm. We need to get more of the people with this type of mindset to go the army and help fight the enemy and leave crime to the intelligent ones who steal with a computer and a smile.
