Malaysia - What do you love about the place?

I was in Malaysia last year and stayed in Kuala Lumpur for 4 days. What I like about the place are the cluster of malls and of course, the lovely Petronas Tower. Actually, the main reason I went there was because of the tower. It has became my dream to see those twin towers after I have watched Entrapment. I also love the cheap Cadburry chocolates I bought at Sungei Wang Plaza where you can also buy cheap electronic gadgets. If you are from Malaysia, can you suggest any other place I can visit the next time I go there? And to those tourist like me, what particular place or experience you have love about Malaysia?

Dear Mathilda, Welcome to myLot. and I am glad that you enjoyed your trip to Malaysia very much You can visit Hitorical City Malacca or food heaven - Penang! If you like island activities, you can choose to go to Pulau Redang, Pulau Langkawi (duty free), Pulau Tioman and Pulau Pangkor. You can have wonderful snorkeling at Pulau Redang where many movies were shot at this beautiful island. If you go to Malacca, you can see the historical building form Dutch and Portuguese era. You can try chicken rice ball, satay celup or normal satay (barbequed meat slices on the lidi stick). If you visit Penang, food is abundant, take time to enjoy its local delicacies! All the best and see you again!

Hi Iriene! Are you from Malaysia? I would love to check the places you have suggested. I love food so I'll make sure I'll try some of your suggestions on my next visit. Also, what do you think of the Batu Caves? Is it worth my time going there? Or it's just an ordinary cave?

I went to Malaysia during my trip around the world. I arrived in Penang from Sumatra. I saw a really beautiful temple. I went by train to Kuala Lumpur and did some shopping there. Next I went to Mersing and caught a boat over to Tioman Island. I saw some stunning looking palm fringed beaches there. I fell down an open drain and got really sick. I loved Malaysia but didn't have the best luck there.

I haven't been to that place. I have spend my whole 4 days touring Kuala Lumpur and checking Sungei Wei Plaza for the gadgets and visiting the Petronas Tower. I was initially planning to see the Batu Caves but I didn't push through since it's pretty far from KL and I was alone. I'm sorry that you don't have much luck visiting that place. You're lucky to have been able to tour around the world. I hope I can do that too. :)

NurseMathilda, First, like every Singaporean, I find Malaysia good for shopping country wide starting from Johore Bahru and all the way up north Penang. Food is the next best thing in Malaysia. There are nice food and I believe you will find it like Chow Kit in Kuala Lumpur, Gurney Lane in Penang and many more. There are also nice cooling places like the Cameron Highlands and Genting Highlands which comes with a mega amusement park and casinos. Then, there will also be nice beach resorts in Tioman, Redang Island, Langkawi and Penang. So, do check them out the next time when you are considering making a trip there again. P.S. They have great golf courses around the whole of Malaysia too.
