How would you know if a website is a SCAM?

I started joining PTC sites recently. And there are lots of PTC sites on the web. All of them are promising to pay me if I view their adds. I'm just wondering how to know if a PTC site is a sacm or not. What ware the characteristics of scam sites? Help me Please I don't want to be sscamed.

As for me, what I do is make a discussion here in Mylot before I join a certain site. Cause there are a lot of members here who are trying to earn online and I'm sure that one of them would have encountered a certain site. And it hasn't failed me yet.
