Way back 1997, I've met a 7 year old girl who was suffering from basculitis in a Day care center where I used to have my children taken care of. She was in a wheelchair with her feet so thin. She can't walk. One night, I saw her trembling and crying. I asked the guardian of her status. She had been afflicted with the disease for more than 1 year. Her mother left had her let in that day care center for almost 1 month. I told the girl 'Cherry, tomorrow, I will find you the best doctor." I saw a smile on her face. I immediately looked for the mother of the girl who was then working in a electronic company. I tols the uncle that I need to talk to her. I called up several agencies for help and 1 of them guided me to proceed to a certain Children's hospital. The following day, we had a hard time to have her consulted, because according to the duty doctor, her case was not an emergency one. What I did, I brought her to a private doctor, and true enough we got connected to the best doctor. She had undergone several laboratory tests and 1 was sent to the US for testing. She was negative for leukemia and lopus. On December 28, 1997. Cherry and her family visited us, and we all saw her walking. The feeling of reaching out to others, especially the little ones really made me fulfilled at that moment. From then on, she seldom can't walk, but through continuous medication, she is surviving until now. She is now 19 years old still alive and studying. To me the essence of a person's existence is to let others feel that they belong to this world; and caring for others is the very important virtue that a person must possessed to have a more meaningful and fulfilling life.
