For me, this is John Le Carre. I would swear he's one of the best ever alive today. What author has filled this spot for you ?

I am sure I have read a book or two of Le Carre's work. Really not for me but I guess I am not that well read to judge. What I do love to read and reread are Stephen King's work. I like his short stories best. For me, really briliant.

Well isn't this nice of you. I appreciate this so much. Well I just wanted to add that I think short stories are the best to read and I think the hardest to write as an author have to compress the message in a few pages or so. Le Carre's work are mostly espionage right? Have you tried Ken Follett yet?

Charles de Lint - if you like reading fantasy, but slightly different from all the quest, elf, sword and sorcery stuff that everybody else is writing, try de Lint.

Patricia Cornwall's series is great for me. I also love Elizabeth Goudge and James Patterson. I just don';t get John Le Carre.

I actually have a couple of authors that have very different styles that I enjoy reading. I like Stephan King and V.C Andrews. V.C Andrews was awesome and there is nothing that she has written that I have not enjoyd. The problem is that when she passed, her family hired a ghost writer that tries to write like her but sadly fails.

I enjoy lots of authors, but I read a lot of Stephen King and James Patterson.
