When surfing the cable last night, I come to see a show which features three professionals discussing the biggest question since man learned science "What comes first, the EGG or the CHICKEN?". They have come to a conclusion that it is the "egg" who comes first. I thought it was the "chicken". May I know what's your taught about this million dollar question?

Hey Fulltank, wiyhout the chicken there's no egg,an egg can not appear just like that!, BUT A CHICKEN CAN,the egg needs to stay warm to hatch, the baby chicken needs to be fed by its mother,if the chicken evolved it sure didn't roll up the banking! So, I conclude that the chicken came first................

yeah, that's what I see it also. But this three professionals i watched over the TV says the theory about the evolution of all living things comes from a "one-celled organism". They claim that as the the cell develop, it does not mean that it develop into a mature being or thing. They have to be born and in this case hatch as an egg. The mother need not to be a fully grown or the perfect chicken as we know it today. With the inclusion of science in the picture, the taught that the chicken comes first since the bible told us that God created all living things (I would say all are adult) is becoming more blur to me.

I disagree, there's a differance between a cell and an egg ,a cell developes into an organism, moving and walking, an egg has to hatch open, A cell is not an egg. Chicken came first.....

Lulz. Of course the egg came first. The egg cannot pop from out of nowhere, but then, so can't the chicken. Therefore, imagining there had to be a start somewhere, it had to be the creation of the first chicken. And how could the chicken be created in any other way than the way that it creates other chicken? Through the egg. (More exactly, through the aglomeration of cells, that eventually become specific and create the chick and finally the chicken).

fulltank well logic and reason dictate that in order to have an 'egg you must have a chicken first,so of course the bloody chicken came first. My thought on that is I really don't care which it was.

If you don't care, why bother to answer in the discussion?

Let's apply the KISS concept (Keep It Simple Stupid). Dinosaurs came before chickens. Dinosaurs laid eggs. Therefore, eggs came before chickens. See? It's that simple.

This is the third time I answer to this question. So, what was teh question ? Which COMES first, the egg or the hen ? Nowhere is said is about ... chicken (hen) eggs .. Therefor the only accurate answer is: THE EGG. Is well known and scientificaly proven life comes out from the water / sea. Let's forget that spawn are in fact eggs .. Which were next on the evolution ladder ? REPTILES. Which were on earth long before birds .. and reproducing thru .. eggs. Now for sure one will come and say "ok, but chickens are not born from reptile eggs" Now really ? wanna bet ? I'll give first a chance to not loose the money on me: take a look at chickens (birds in generaly) LEGS. Got the point ?
