I got this from a friend in New Zealand: Health 1.Drink plenty of water 2.Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a beggar 3.Eat more food that grow on tress and plants and less food that is manufactured in plants 4.Live with 3E's--Energy,Enthusiasm,Empathy 5.Make time for prayer 6.Play more games 7.Read more books than you did in 2008 8.Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day 9.Sleep for 7 hour a day 10.Take 10-30 minutes walk everyday and while you walk, smile How true? But do we practise it diligently? I don't. How about my fellow myLotters? Please comment.

Great advice JamesKY. I do drink plenty of water, play games, show enthusiasm and empathy and I smile a lot. Unfortunately, I fall short on the rest of the list. My eating habits have improved somewhat over the years since I have started to become more aware of how poorly I feel when I eat a lot of junk food but sadly, I am a junk food addict and even when I do eat properly during the day, I always end up craving something chocolate late at night. Then I usually pig out on it. Very bad habit I know but just can't stop myself.

Most of us have poor eating habits including me. We all know these rules, but how many of us follow strictly. We may drink plenty of water that includes me. But we eat badly.WE eat irregularly. WE need to make a pledge to follow these rules for good health.

I cannot help smiling aloud. Your friend is kinda cute. The tips are what many have preached. There is some truth in it. However, to practice diligently, no, I would not. Dinner like a beggar is already something not acceptable to me. LOL.

You are absolutely right. Preaching is easy. Practice is not. Who wants to eat dinner like a beggar? I think most of us want to enjoy dinner like a king.

Hi jerimiyah, I am so glad that you appreciate it. You can in turn share it with your friends. After all ,What are friends for? When we share what is good and make the other feel good, you will feel good. God bless you.

Hello, thanks for your sharing. From these words, I fins my life style is not very healthy. For example, I often don't eat breakfast, and eat a lot in dinner. I think I should change this life habit. Good Luck.

You may make a survey on this. How much food you eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I can bet majority eat dinner like a king and skip breakfast or eat breakfast like a pauper. Everyone plans to change eating habits and life style. But can they follow 100%? It is not easy. Keep it up.

....Hi JamesKYTan, This is a great list, and no I don't practice it. But I think it would surely help me in a big way if I did. I would add two other things to the list if you would allow me, meditate at least twice a week, and hug somebody at least once a week, if you can. I really like the one about the breakfast, lunch and dinner, our bodies would not be as out of shape as some of them are, if we ate more in the morning and burned it off during the day, rather than eating large dinners and then sleeping. I think I will bookmark your question. Thanks. take care.

Hi artistry,I am so happy that you like it.Oh, meditate everyday, in the morning when you wake up and at night before you sleep. Then fast for 24 hours once every month. That will be wonderful. Thank you for the new addition.

The ones I need to work on the most is praying and reading more. I pray everyday at mealtime but not much beyond that. I used to love to read as a kid but find that so many other things steal my attention away when I try to sit down with a book now.

I am more like you. When I was a kid I read more than I am now.Now I hardly read a book a month. When I try to read I tend to fall asleep. I pray at mealtime and night time.

To follow a good healthy plan is easy, but can we really really keep it going and going with fail.I think somehow somewhere something may interrupt our plan that prevents us from following these healthy habits. so it is not easy. We need will power and determination. So per-serve.

It would be hard to practice.....I am not a morning eater, but a night eater.....I could try it though...it can't hurt.

As I mentioned in my earlier comments, it is not easy to practise. I fail to follow all. I some time skip breakfast. I hardly exercise due to my nature of work as I have to travel a lot.Keep it up.

I think this is why I have become a great fan of yours. It is a very healthy topic which gives good message to all. I hope all mylotters will go through this. As far as I am concerned I do all these but not in the same order. There are times when I had to skip my breakfast, lunch or dinner for the sake of my works in hand or in the larger interest of humanitarianism. Empathy is the real secret of my healthy life. Hope to see you again with some new discussions. By the way I am a regular visitor of your blog. I liked it very much. Keep it up.

Hi meapas,Great! At long last, I manage to get one i.e. you who do all the 10. I am so happy. Very very few do all the 10 points, but if they did some time or other, they may miss one or so because we are all human. Thank you being a great fan of mine and also for visiting my blog.Cheers.

Dear JamesKYTan, Great and healthy topic too I love those on the list...but this did not apply in my case. My home practice ~ dinner like a king, lunch like a prince (ok) but breaksfast...just a drink like a beggar! Need to make immediate CHANGE! Must get my husband to give some allowances for me to buy heartily breakfast, proper lunch and healthy dinner. Ooops, now I remember! I hardly eat lunch too, that is why I can spend time here blogging and myLotting! I have 6 hours sleep I guess, zero exercise...... Cheers and live a healthy lifestyle!

That is why I said many of us hardly practised all the rules. Especially Malaysians eat dinner like a king. At times I skip breakfast.I hardly exercise. No time is mere justification. The only one on the list that I do diligently is drink plenty of water.Iriene, follow the rules diligently.

Great advice! I do drink loads of water - I DON'T often eat breakfast, and dinner is usually bigger than lunch! - I definitely agree with eating as naturally as possible - and the others I do, except for sleeping! As I type it is 1.21am...

I am yet to see one who can say,"Yes, I follow all the 10 rules on the list." So far nobody. If the answer is yes, then he is health fanatic. Many drink plenty of water. Most myLotters hardly sleep more than 7 hours. Let us try to keep most of these rules. Cheers!

Nice piece of advice my friend jameskytan Yeah you are right in terms of taking good care of our body because our body is very important in order for us to survive and do our daily activities like working, studying, recreational, play and many more. But I am just wondering why is it that there are people who performs this set of advices that you had shared but eventually they are sick and they have certain kinds of diseases like a friend of mine a very young athletic individual who eats vegetables controls her set of diets almost as perfect as perfect as your set of advice but yet she is now having a cancer for an unknown reason, my question is why did she caught cancer in the same place. She's as healthy as me. So for me health is really unpredictable you may healthy today but you'll be sick or even die tomorrow nobody knows.

Sometimes a person performs all these 12 points, yet suffers from deceases.Good health or deceases can also be genetically linked. As doctors emphasised that if a person suffers from heart attack or cancer his children tend to follow suit. His children then have to adjust or follow certain strict diet to at least reduce the chance of getting the disease. All in all, the best we can do is to trust in God.

I think that even if it's not exactly my practice, I am healthy. I drink 6-8 glasses of water a day, sleep at least 7-8 hours a day, exercise, laugh a lot and read books. Also, I watch my diet. I don't eat lots of fatty foods. Occasionally, I eat fast foods especially if I am really busy. I believe that what your friend said is true as it will lead to a healthy lifestyle if it's practice.

Hello NurseMathilda, being a nurse you know better than most of us. But can we really practised diligently without fail all the 10 points. If there is one, I think he is a robot. Anyway it is good to know you did most of them. Keep it up.

I feel wonderful to know that it can help you keep a healthy body. If you can exercise one hour a day, carry on. I can't do as I my work requires me to travel a lot. In fact right now I am in a hotel typing this.Keep it up.
