We all know that there are lots of computer games now and most of the players are the youth. But some games are very brutal and sometimes it can makes someone to think or act brutal too. Some of the student's a being addicted to computer games and it really affects thier studies. Playing games is good but we need to balance our time and know our priorities. So what do you think is it good or Bad?

Some are evil, like Grand Auto Theft. Why play a game of committing crimes and violence? It is just plain stupid. Some other games are ok. All of them can be bad if you do them too much.

My son was a sweet and funloving until my ex bought him video games at the age of four years old. He is six now and has been playing for the summers when there is no school. But since the introduction he has lost interest in books an family time. I have also noticed a change in his behavior for the worse. He seems agitated over small things. I am planning to take them away for good and get books back in the picture.

I think some computer games are very educational for youth. Of course there are some that are very graphic and violent, but those games should only be played by people who are prepared to play them. (Depending on the person's maturity and age.) It is true that some students are very addicted to certain games, like World of Warcraft or MMORPGs or other games like Halo. Some of those kids/teens play them way too much and it can be hazardous to their health if they're playing for hours on end without taking a break or getting any exercize. MMORPGs can often take control of teens lives as that the goal is to "level up" their character to get stronger and better in the game, which is usually done by doing the same thing repetitivily for hours and hours. These games can be very entertaining to play as that it's about competition, because the more someone has played, the more stronger they are than other people who play the games, but usually the best players have near no life. It can be very bad for a teen to put this much time into those games. Some students will often spend 4+ hours a day playing MMORPGs and it's time better spent doing something else in most cases. Those games can be fun, but it's definitely better for students to limit how long they play MMORPGs or any other type of game. I think that as long as a student is prepared for the violence or innopropriate things in the game they're playing, then if they're only playing it for less than 1-2 hours a day, then it shouldn't be a bad thing. It's just one activity of their day that they like to enjoy.

I think the brutal games are bad and it is not just the youth that play these games there are adults who play then too. The ones that are not brutal if play in moderation I do not see anything wrong with them. People who play computer games need to balance their time and know what the priorities should come first.

I don't think playing computer games can be called evil. It can only manipulate some of your priorities that is needed to accomplish. You have the time management, just play if you have spare time and set your priorities first.

Computer games are one of those things that can be used for good and bad much like a hammer. A hammer can build a house but it can also destroy a house. Studies have shown that computer games are good for us in that it allows us to learn things when playing such as management. Of course there are educational games but I think the majority of people who play games are for entertainment purposes. It is good in that it lets a person playing have fun and feel good inside when they win a game or become stronger and achieve quests. They are stimulating in a way that let's you interact with the game like you would when playing in a sport. Of course, the movements are rather limited to movements of the mouse and keyboard but there can be just as much social interaction in the computer game as a sport. There's teamwork, strategy and helping out other players online in an MMO. The bad thing is that some people can be addicted to games and their health and other parts of their life can be consumed by the game. I think there needs to be moderation to the times people say they will play a game so that they don't sit there for hours playing and being hooked into the game.

I think that some computer games are good whilst other computer games are bad. There has been a lot of news coverage on how certain games influence children, they are very impressionable at an early age! If we take the fighting games for example, especially the games involving horror, blood and gore; well these games can be bad if they fall into the wrong hands! Looking at computer games in a positive light though, they can do you some good. Certain games that involve strategy and puzzles and the like, they can really benefit the mind as there's lots of logic involved. I think that balance is important as with anything. I personally love computer games but I know when I should stop playing them, I notice when they are having a serious impact on other areas of my life. It's at times like this that I decide to call it a day! Andrew

Same could be said of the Internet, movies, music and so on. It just depends on the person. Unstable people will always find a medium to blame.

You can not determine if computers games are not evil nor good. It has both good and bad traits.... The good side is that you can improve your hand and eyes coordination and even your thinking skills as well, meet new friends, somehow be updated of whats new, it can also teach you about the computer itself and the internet. Also the bad side for me it really depends on the player of the certain kind of computer game, they can really affect your grades at school, even your health as well can be affected, it can also lead to some enemies, it can increase your electric bill and it can affect your time with your family, friends and loved ones.

Yeah i agree with you. It isnt bad to play videogames, but if you overexceed the playing, then its a problem and becomes bad. There are some benefits on playing videogames like for example, one source from where i was able to learn english was from videogames. I used to play a lot of rpg when i was young and i was interested in the story they have. Also that made me interested on reading, as i began to read fantasy books and then i began reading about everything. So as you can see there can be benefits from playing games. But there are also some videogames that are way too violent and even though they are R rated, still kids play them (eg grand theft auto). And its true it affects the studying. Some kids get out of school directly to play videogames. Also it can make kids be more violent. Take for an example my little 6 years old brother. He sometimes is very agressive(not always but still) when someone tells him to stop playing.
