Dear MyLotters, Language spoken : English,Bahasa Indonesia,Mandarin(chinese),Hokkien (dialect) Language written : English ,Bahasa Indonesia I really wish I can speak and write in more languages. When I was young, my father encouraged me to take up Mandarin language course, but I also reject his offer and now I feel regret,I can only speak simple Mandarin,no written for me.I also can't recognize the Mandarin words. When go to karaoke for singing session, I can only choose English songs,no mandarin song for me unless the mandarin songs have Hanyun PingYin. During my high school, I did learn Japanese language for two years,But since it is not use in my daily life, now I am totally forget about how to write and speak in Japanese. If giving me a chance to learn, I will learn Japanese,Mandarin and Cantonese languages. Tell me how many languages can you speak and write ??? Are you learning any language course now ?

Hi Shia, I know three languages, one is our mother tongue, second is our national language and the third is English. Actually three languages are compulsory in school so we are getting the chance to learn three languages from school itself. I am not doing any language course now. I wish to study more languages but I am lazy and time is also very less with me.

Shia.. When I was young, I did blame my parents for sending me to a Chinese school, as both of them are English literates, for me to be in a Chinese school, actually it's very very hard. But now, being able to speak the major 3 languages in Malaysia, I actually very thankful to them, and glad that I survived the 9 years of Chinese Education. While I was working with a bumiputra majority company in Malaysia, I was like a 'treasure' to the Company coz the Company deals a lot with Chinese and I am the only one there that could speak and write. I even named the Chinese name for one of the property project! Beside the 3 languages, I do have basic Japan & French. And also, I have the dialects such as Cantonese, Hokkien, Hakka, Teo Chew.

I am suffering from 'languemania' ;-) I write and Speak :Hebrew, English, French, Arabic and a basic Russian (beginner level). I find knowing a language a real gift, and I do feel sorry for those who used to know once a language but forgot it. If you don't use a language, you start losing it, and it is really a pity, don't you think?

I can only speak and write two languages. English as my foreign language and Tagalog or Filipino as my native tongue. Someday I want to learn other languages also like Mandarin, French, Spanish, Italian. and Japanese. It will be very helpful knowing more than two languages especially when you are going to their countries. You can easily communicate and understand them.

I speak and write in English, Filipino, Spanish, and French (although my French is very rusty - need to review or spend a year in Paris to get the hang of it again, hehe). I'd love to learn some more languages. They're my thing. :) I'm thinking Italian, Portuguese, or German. I'd also love to learn Hebrew and Hawaiian.

As of today... I speak 9 different languages... My wife speaks 7. It just started on learning French because we wanted to go to France and experience it first hand, so we learned... After that it became natural, what we did is buy language books, learn common phrases, use it in simple sentences, translate it and check if it's correct then watch or read books about the different language... I've always wanted to be a Con with this, but I guess I'm just a good guy... heehee!
