Hello everyone here Ji,
I wish to bring myth why at all we all Hindus worship Lord Ganesha before any other Gods. Here is something to think.
http://www.festivalsinindia.net/karwa-chauth/index.html
Why is Ganesh the first God invoked in all Pujas and rituals?"Why is Ganesh worshipped first among all Gods? What is the reason behind worshipping Ganesha as Aadideva in all rituals and pujas? Ganesh or Ganapati is worshipped before starting or initiating any puja or ritual as per Hinduism. Lord Ganesh is also called as Vinayaka, Vigneshwara, Vignahantri, Gajanana, Ganadhipa, Gananayaka, Lambodara and Ekadanta.
Not only in India but in China, America, Tibet, Japan, Burma, Nepal and Iran Lord Ganesh is worshipped. In every puja, all energies are dedicated mainly to Ganapati. Ganesha is elephant headed with elephant ears and huge stomach. As per the Rig Veda, Ganesha is described as ‘Sarvagna’ (the one with full of wisdom).
Many legends in the Puranas describe the birth of Ganesha. Shiva Purana, Narada Purana, Brahmavivartha Purana, Skanda Purana and Ganesh Purana had several different legends that explain Ganesh’s birth.
Elephant is considered as the most intelligent animal which can guide its fellow animals. Elephant’s ears are so wide that can hear a sound from even 10 Km distance. It can predict the forthcoming obstacles and solve that obstacle with foresight. Hence Ganesha is called as Vignahantri and Vigneshwara.
Ganesha is the God who can guide his devotees to success with predicting the forthcoming obstacle and destroying the evil forces. This is the reason why Ganesha is worshipped first of all Gods. Invocation to Lord Ganesh first of all Gods makes the devotee’s wish to be fulfilled with great success."
May God bless You and have a great time.

Hello my friend. I find it fascinating to learn of your culture and your beliefs. The history of Ganesh, based on the skills of the elephant, would indeed make this a god of note.
As for me, I worship God only. But again, thank you for sharing this part of the Hindu culture.
May God bless you, too.

Hello my friend PeacefulWmn9 Ji,
All your responses themselves fascinate me to continue with your replies.
So nice of you for your immediate response. Today we have a festival known as 'KARVA-CHOUTH' (see my posting on the subject), where I am on fast till I see moon at night, then only, my hubby will offer me water and eatables. This fast is kept for wishing well to my hubby. After twelve days 'Dewali' is coming. And during all this worships, our Lord ganesha would be worshiped ahead of anyone. We strat all our wordshipping after we worship Lord Ganesha.
May god bless You and have a great time.

Hello my friend PeacefulWmn9 Ji,
Fasting purifies the senses in the body as well. My hubby keeps fast to reduce weight. Fasting can be termed as controlling desires, which when done will take you to peace. Now we are in DEwali festive mood. I will be posting something about this festival as well.
May god bless You and have a great time.

Hello :) I like the idea of fasting as a way to honor and bring good wishes to one's spouse. Fasting is a part of some of the rites here in the US, too. It is usually connected to a religious rite or to one's desire to cleanse the body of all toxins and begin anew with a fresh and healthy start.
I shall look for your discussion on the other festival :)1 person likes this
