Do you think there are some people out there who are just not meant to be military spouses? What traits do you think makes for a good military spouse? What traits do you think put the marriage in jeopardy?

I grew up in a military family. We live inside the military base and my father was, most of the times, with us. There are some times thought that he will take on temporary assignments in far away places for a year or two and as far as I can remember, my mother finds life, looking after as all, extremely difficult. There are 9 of us to care for and most of us were young then. One difficult thing to cope up with is loneliness, when your spouse is assigned somewhere else. So the good trait, perhaps that is needed is the ability to face loneliness temporarily. cheers

Well, it seems your mom had a much more difficult situation to deal with than most just for the fact that she had nine children! And I think you're right that the loneliness is often the hardest thing to deal with. When my husband is away, it's like a part of me goes with him, but the homecomings always make it worthwhile.
