Are you ever too old to start learning a new language?

I moved to the UK when I was 23 years old. My parents realised at that time that they would find it difficult to visit me or to communicate with my husband (who is English) if they didn't speak the language. So they started learning English despite being already in their 60s. I am really proud of them to start learning a language in that age. Do you think you are ever too old to learn a language?

You make "in my thirties" sound old! I'd love to learn Japenese as well.

I don't think you are ever too old, as long as you are determined and committed to learning you can learn. it maybe more dificult then when you are younger but if you perserve it can be achieved. Being around and relating to people that speak would help to.

I agree. But the younger you are when you start, the easier it is. And you are right, talking to people in the language helps.
