A costume party (American English ) or a fancy dress party (BNritish English),mainly in contemporary Western culture,is a type of party where guests dress up in a costume.Costume Parties are especially popolar in the Uinted States around Halloween, when teenagers and adults who may be considered too old for trick-or-treating attend a costume party instead.

Intead of just posting an informative paragraph, you should really try to make your discussions into more of an DISCUSSION, by asking questions so people have something to respond to.
I just read your discussion, thinking it was going to be something interesting, or asking for ideas about hosting a costume party, but what i got out of it instead was a dictionary or encyclopedic type paragraph just telling me what a costume party is. This is not going to draw people in, and make them want to respond, which if you want to make money on this site, is what you should be doing.
Just a suggestion. After your description of what a costume party is, you should ask if anyone has ever held or attended a costume party? was there a specific theme, or just a free-for-all come dressed up type thing? Who out there is going to be holding a costume party for the upcoming Halloween holiday?
in my personal opinion, a discussion should ALWAYS end with at least one question, in order to warrent any responses....
