Do you think a fib is the same as a lie?

I think a fib is the same thing as a lie. Anyway you look at it your lying. I don't think people should say they told someone a little fib. It doesn't matter fib or not it is concidered a lie. That is my personal opinion about the concept of a fib. I really think people should tell the truth and not lie. Lying just gets people deeper into trouble. Also when you lie you end up lying about other stuff. Eventually it becomes a habit. I know I would not want to be known as a lier. You lose alot of friends that way. Then when you do tell the truth noone will beleive you. I would suggest not lying because it gets you no where in life. Remeber a fib is a lie anyway you look at it.

I think a fib is like if say.... I am at the store and someone I know asks "hey, how are you doing?" and even though its been a real bad, bad day, I answer "I'm doing good thanks, how are you?" with a smile of course. Everyone does this and why? because we don't want to burden others or bring them down, so we fib a little and it hurts no one. A lie on the other hand generally hurts someone.

A lie is a lie whatever you call it. However sometimes you need to tell a fib to someone and not hurt that feeling. Sometimes someone need to hear some positive new and if you need to boost their confidence level with a little fib go for it. They will understand in the end happy lotting.

I agree with you even if i usually told some fibs just to make thinks looks better or to help some friend when they're in trouble. I think this is a wrong habit but some times you don't know what else to do.
