I know some stuff that can decrease the boot-up time on your computer. Having too many desktop icons on your computer can slow down the boot-up, so you want to decrease what's on your desktop as much as possible. I like to put all my shortcuts in a folder, and then open up the folder in a toolbar on the desktop itself. It saves more space and doesn't take up as much of time to load. Another one is having too many programs that automatically start when your computer turns on. It's better to just start them yourself, rather than making your computer start them all. In addition, having too many of these on can also slow down the overall performance of your computer. And if you're using Vista, I recommend turning off the Sidebar on your desktop. It also slows down boot-up and takes up quite a bit of the RAM. I know there are other tips out there, but it's specific to the OS you're using. Which one are you using, by the way?

To Increase your computer you can do many things... First of all you need to have very good hardware configuration. If you do not have good hardware configuration, you should upgrade your hardware. Increase your RAM and upgrade your graphics card and processor if possible. Anyways, assuming that you have a very good hardware configuration I can share you some ways which helps me a lot to run my computer at its best speed. 1. Check your root directory( That is C:, you should have enough space in it.), If you are running out of space in C drive, move the files to another drive or backup to CD or DVD, or you can uninstall or some programs which are not necessary. 2. Run disk cleanup(It is in the accessories/system tools in windows, which helps to remove Temporary files(.tmp), Temporary Internet files and lots of unused files. Check and uncheck options and run it. 3.Download a free registry cleaner from net and run it to check your registry errors, and fix them. CCCleaner is good on that purpose. 4. Check for viruses. Check your computer thoroughly once in a week to be sanguine that your speed is not being clogged by any virus. 5. Run disk defragmenter. 6. Check your fonts directory( Do not remove any fonts if you are not absolutely sure, that you have installed them, the fonts installed by OS must be untouched), if there are unnecessary fonts they should be removed. If thousands of fonts are installed they slow down computer a lot. I have a Graphics designer friend, whose computer was best in hardware, but he was facing speed problems, checking everything, I came to know everything was right but he had installed thousands of fonts in the windows/fonts folder. Hope it helps.... Good Luck

This will do. But there are still a lot of factors that can cause slow performance for a computer. The computer can either be slow at start up, while opening a program or while browsing the internet.. YOu have to be sure of all the points of failure.. Best thing to do is to isolate the problem.. When it is happening.. What are the things that you are doing.. DOes it gives any error.. I think some of the posts already suggest upgrading the ram on the computer. That's one thing. Just make sure you got a lot of free space on your have drive and yu manage the partitions very well.. YOU can also try disabling some of the startup items from the windows configuration utility.. Those are lists of programs that always run as you turn on the computer..you can also try clearing out the prefetch folder on the computer.. These things can hep you in speeding up the performance of teh computer as a whole..

Improving the speed of a computer can be done in many ways. It may be slow due to spyware, adware, viruses, or trojans. You could easily get a variety of different anti-virus and anti-spyware software by searching online. They help clean and protect your computer from being harmed by viruses/spyware. You could also run a disk defragmenter to uncluster those clustered files on your system. If you surf the web a lot, you possibly have a lot of cookies. You might want to delete that by going to your program and erasing your history, cache, and cookies. By doing all these steps, you will notice quite a change in your computer speed.

Mostly slow computer speed is all about the memory. You can try to adding more memory to you computer and try how does it run after you upgrading your memory. You can also doing hard drive defragmenting for making your files can be accessed faster. I think you can try to applying each things above one by one. But you should tell us more about your computer specification and what kind of software you run on your computer. Some people try to using some software which actually not suitable for their system specification and such thing causing system slowing. Good luck and have a nice day. Happy mylotting.

there are really several ways to boost your PC's speed. You can actually downgrade your OS from Vista to XP or you can actually upgrade some of your RAM

In fact, the speed of your computer depends on the amount of memory, multi-core CPU can also significantly increase the speed of your computer.Unless you are a fan of a variety of software testing,or you are not recommended to install too many duplicate or useless software on your computer. There are wide variety of operating system optimization softwares on the market, those are useless, the operating system itself is good enough and often will auto upgrade,if you optimize the operating system, you are likely to lose important system files,it guide to your computer unstable, thus reducing the speed of your computer. At the same time, anti-virus software is very necessary, and preferably regularly updated virus database, the virus had also be to the main reason causing computer slow.
