Vitiligo scare

Hello fellow mylotters. I need your advice or opinion about something.
I have been bothered by the thought that I might have vitiligo one day. You see, I have an aunt and 3 uncles who have it. They say it's a familial thing.
Do you have any idea about this? Can you share it with me please?
Can it be prevented?

Well I have read from Wiki that it is a combination of genetics, autoimmune, and environmental. So if it is genetics then there is a high probability that you might have this problem too in the near future. I am thinking that before it happens you can consult your problem with a dermatologist that might help you in case the symptoms of it becomes evident with you. I am pretty sure there are plenty of information you can get from the net about this.

Dear Wookieekyut,
There is no need to worry, its not at all proven that all the Vitiligo patients having family history eventually end up into Vitiligo. And even if it unfortunatly occurs then also there are treatments available. So, Chill.
