If You Think Swine Flu Is Like Any Other Bouts Of Flu...

Then, let me tell you that you are grossly mistaken. It is definitely NOT.
So, don't trivial and undermine this pandemic.
I am just quite surprise at some members' trivial view of things and disregard for what is being advocated.
It can kill and just do not think that normal going about with normal flu can bring cure or recovery. Also, it does not mean that you can get yourself immune with the virus, you need to seek the doctors if you suspect yourself having the symptoms.
So, stop your misconstrued conceptions and do the right thing. Believe me it can KILL!

From you first link:
"Doctors say Louise, a Virgin Trains customer services worker on board the West Coast Mainline, was more vulnerable to the virus because she had asthma."
The regular seasonal flu kills tens of thousands every year here in the U.S. by contrast, the swine flu has been responsable for about 60 deaths.
Now, while I am not going to trivilize the h1n1 flu strain, I am certainly not going to over hype it as the media and world organizations have done. I'm not saying we shouldn't take the usual precautions and such, but neither should we be panicing and screaming armagedon.

xfahctor,
Screaming Armageddon!
I do not think the media had hyped but I felt that there is not enough emphasis. I am really wondering if this is good or bad.
Anyway, but I just hoped that all will be well in due soon time.

Any flu can kill in fact back in the early years before medicine was seriouly studied and remedies created it also was not uncommon for many to die from the comon cold. Does that mean im going to cause a mass panic over a treatable illness. Not one bit.

UCantSeeMe,
I am really not advocating panic but that we should be more down to earth with our approach and not undermine the severity and possibility of being infected by the Swine Flu.
Your body may be able to overcome the pandemic but think and consider that people around or next to you may not. I feel that everyone is already aware already, yet I cannot help to stress that we should not be ignorant with our ways.
Take care.

It is a fact that flu kills many people each year all over the world. Now this swine flu is particularly severe when it infects the young and the weak. So we should all take precautions and follow certain conventions. For instance cough into your sleeve instead your hands. Wash your hands often and carry hand sanitizer with you. Also if you are working out in a gym wipe down the equipment before and after each use, and again clean your hands. I go to an excercise programs where we use a lot of balls. I told the instructor that from now on I will wear gloves when we use the balls for exercise and tossing around. I also asked that hand sanitizer bottles be placed so it is readily available.

Lindalinda,
I could not agree more and I am glad that you are taking the necessary precautions and cares here.
I really hope that this pandemic can come to a stop and let everyone move on with our lives.
Take care.
