Will Digital Pic's EVER be affordable?

I have been pretty optimistic until recently, for a few years now, telling myself that the prices are definately coming down and although they may have only slightly because 100 pics can easily cost up to 60+ dollars (man, if you have to pay tax). I love taking pictures and like to make myself little albums of pics in our town for my two daughters but its just not affordable to print them and most get kept on CD. Any suggestions how I can work around this? BEfore digital pics came into play they used to be affordable and although the KODAK paper is many times better I do know early 80-90s pics have survived the times.

it will be affordable if the taxes are not high. Eventually it will be if the economy is stable again. The present economy is adjust to all the changes that are taking place so is the rest of the world.

yea i know times are tough but I just thought prices would've come down three years ago--I guess the computerized equipment is what keeps it up. Im crossing my fingers they dont go up farther but then they used to be 27Cents--ouch.

I too had a love for computer pics and used to print out many of them. Between the price of paper and printer ink, it is not a very affordable hobby. We are lucky though. Most of our big box stores now have self printing stations where you can get your pictures printed for anywhere between 15-20 cents per picture. In my area, I use both Walmart and Zehr's depending on who is running the best sale price at that time.
