What are your kids going as for Halloween?

My kids have decided to go as a ninja and a fairy tale princess. I let them usually decide what they would like to go as as long as the outfit that we buy or put together is with a fair price range. They are still fairly young so they are content with just being a ninja or a princess. So what are your children going as this Halloween?

I have a 4 year old - and this year she is going to be Mary Poppins! There are no costumes for Mary Poppins at our local Halloween shops even if we wanted to get a costume, so we have put all the pieces together ourselves (from various thrift shops and such). That's part of the fun! However, everyday, she will change her mind several times. She also wants to be Dumbo, Chicken Little, a dalmation . . . and all these other things she sees or hears about throughout the day!! But still she is excited about being Mary Poppins as she is her hero - hee hee. Enjoy Halloween with your kids!

Mary Poppins....what a cute choice. My daughter is the same way with changing her mind, I think it has to do with her friends and what they are wearing as well. This year was actually pretty easy in her choice...this was her only choice. I bought both her and my sons outfit this year but I agree with you that making them is so much better. My mom always made my Halloween outfits when I was young to and they were all so unique now it just seems like kids all want to be the same things. Thanks for your response.

Oh thank you! Most parents thought I picked out the costume because their kids haven't seen Mary Poppins (most girls are into those princess movies) - so they were surprised my little one knew who Mary Poppins was. We really got the most of this costume . . . she dressed in this costume everywhere we went! My daughter is at the age (almost 5) where she wants everything she sees . . . so she wants to dress like whomever she sees at that moment. If we did all those costume changes, we would never have made it to many doors for trick or treating! Hee hee. The cool thing is this outfit can double up as a normal outfit too. That's wonderful your mom always made your Halloween costumes . . . she must be pretty crafty! I think I had the same costume for many years (I was a slow grower) - some clown thing with a mask! Hope you all had a blast on Halloween!!

LOL...mine keeps telling me that he just wants to be a ninja so he can do ninja cart wheels while he trick or treats LOL...I keep telling him that that is fine but he probably won't have the room to do that with all the trick or treaters walking around and how is he going to do all those cart wheelers and make sure his candy stays in his bucket?? LOL It was cute though needless to say he didn't get to do all cart wheels.
