Eating only fruit is not nutritious. Fruit has it's benefits, like Vitamin C, fiber, and other nutrients . . . but it can also mean too much sugar for your body. It's natural sugar, but your body won't differentiate it. And you're right - it won't keep your stomach full. Plus eating too much fruit can cause diarrhea! If you eat only fruit, you can probably lose some weight, but as soon as you eat other foods again, you would gain it all back. The body needs other food for balance. At least some protein - that will keep you full! A well rounded meal, in small portions, are a better nutritional bet than just fruit.

Hi angeli, Fruits are good for our health because it contains essential vitamins, fiber etc. Fruits are easy to digest so once in a week you can take fruits and water only for maintain your good health. It is easy to digest and it helps to clean the digestive system. But replacing the food with fruits is not a good idea. For a good health you have to adopt a balanced nutritious food. Your friend can adopt some other methods to reduce the weight. She/he can skip the dinner instead take fruits at dinner.

A friend of mine used to be on diet and she only ate fruits for lunch and supper. After about a month, she did succeed in losing weight, but at the expense of lacking nutrition. We are often advised by doctors to eat much fruit to make sure we are physically healthy, which is espeically important for people who live in dry areas. But this does not mean we should replace meals with fruits. The main food like rice and noddle as in my country can provide much nutrition that fruits cannot provide. So it's important to put our health at first when thinking of losing weight.

angeliam that is utter nonsense. your body needs a balance of fats, proteins, and complex carbohydrates, when you do not get'this balance you are missing vital elements that your' body needs to function in perfect health.so no eat fruits and beggies, lean meat and eggs, whole grain foods, and lo fat milk and cheeses, you need all these to balance your diet.

Replacing fruits with snacks or unhealthy food helps in reducing weight. But a diet only on fruits, I am not completely sure of it. When I was trying to shed off extra pounds, I used to have fruits in the afternoons instead of cokkies and cakes. It did help. But fruits digest very quickly and some fruits like pineapple increase your appetite. It also helps to eat fruits before aheavy meal so that the food gets digested quickly.

Fruits are essential to our health. But hey don't have all the nutrients our body needs. For example, fats can only found on meats and poultry. Proteins from meat. Therefore eating only fruits for your daily meal when eventually lead you to vitamin deficiencies. This not a healthy way of losing weight too.
