Hi doormouse.
Ahh I see that you are moving. Are you excited about that?
When I have to pack up I always start with the things on the wall. Then I go into the kitchen and pack the things that I know I won't need. Other words start with things that you wont be needing in the next three weeks. Let me know how the move works out for you..Have a nice day..

I would start having a good clear out of the things i did not use anymore and then start packing things that i am unlikely to need for a few months that way some of the packing has been done.As soon as i got a date i would pack the things that i was not going to use until i had moved and bring the boxes downstairs to put in a room.I would mark on a box what things go in what room.

The kitchen. That is the first things you will need when you get there. Pack all the stuff that is not absolutely necesary right now, and just leave enough silver ware, plates etc. to use, until you get completely moved.
