The Reverend Maxwell Craig died whilst rehearsing the "Hallelujah" chorus from Handel's Messiah. Seems an apt piece of music for a clergyman to go to. Personally I'd like to go to the strains of "Supper's Ready" by Genesis. What would be an apt piece for you to expire to?

I am rather partial to the song "Funky Cold Medina". or "Hot Blooded" by the British-American hard rock band Foreigner, either will do me good..I guess if you gotta go it is best to be praising the lord when you do..

Flight of the Valkyries, I cant think of anything more uplifting than that. Or maybe the hymnal Victory, victory, victory.

Trouble with Ride of the Valkyries is that I'd be going out singing "Kill The Wabbit!"

After thinking a bit while reading other responses it has to be Forever Young by Bob Dylan, acoustic version, from his Planet Waves album..ENJOY!

Well, as my 'theme song' is "Don't Worry, Be Happy" by Bobby McFerrin, I think that would be an apt tune. ;)
However, I also like the song "Bat out of Hell" by Meatloaf, but can see why some people wouldn't see that as being appropriate. :)

Yes, I also like that one, but Bat Out Of Hell would really annoy a vicar. ;)

It HAS to be Hanky Panky by Madonna. It is on the soundtrack from the movie "DickTracy". My kids know how much I love this song. Heres' a youtube link of it performed live by her.

hi pikey well there are so many great musical things
and it is a toss up between Mozarts K 379 violin sonata
'with its angry different crashing notes and the beatles
song which I love so much, I can't help falling in love
'with you. Wise men say only fools rush in,but I can.t
help falling in love with you. that song has got to me'
for some reason. And I will always smile remembering that
my dad said of the Beatles, I cannot understand why anyone'wants to listen to them, the Yellow Submarine, of all the fool'
songs. well
he was wrong. he he he he

he was wrong. he he he he

Great topic!
I would like to go out to a particular Falco song that I've loved for over 20 years now. Oh, I've got loads of other songs, too: "Tears Are Falling" by Kiss; "In The Air Tonight"--Genesis; "In Too Deep"--Genesis...I could go on, there are so many songs I'd love to die to. hehe

That happened once in our Parish...we had a choir member die from a heart attack in the choir loft, immediately after singing the "Glory to God". As soon as he was done, he fell into the pew, and when the emp's arrived, they could not revive him. Of course at this time, the service was still going on (although the choir stopped singing), and everyone in the church could hear all the commotion. It was soon realized that he was not coming back to us. While it was a sad for all of us, we couldn't think of a better way to go.

No particular piece of music comes to mind, but I've always said I want to come and go at the same time, if you get my meaning :D.

I would like to expire during The Great Gig in the Sky. That's such a lovely piece of music and always sends chills down my spine. If that was not available I've always liked Wish You Were Here.
