How do i add widgets to my profile.

Ok, so i've looked on other people's profiles and they all have loads of widgets and refferal advertisements on their pages. I tried to do this myself but it isnt working.
could someone please explain how you do this?

i don't know what widgets are. are they the same as banners because i'd like to add those too

yh, they're those little things you can get from websites you are a part of to refer poeple the the site.
