Home-made instrument?

Well, for science class, my teacher wants me to make a home-made instrument for something he says we are going to do next class. Any ideas? 'cause I'm stumped.

Like a musical instrument? The easiest thing I can think of would be to cute a hole in a cereal box and wrap elastic bands around it to make a guitar. I hope that sort of helps if it's a musical insturment that you're suppose to be making. Have fun with that.
