Should a husband help an alcoholic wife?

To what degree is a man expected to help an addicted wife? Let's say he is abusive, and in response she drinks all day long. As an abuser, he does not and will not accept that any of her problems are due to his abuse. But as she descends into addiction as a coping device (a WRONG coping device), she will not accept that her husband is an abuser. Should a husband help a wife who is drinking herself to death? If she does so, is it her fault?
