Do you celebrate Columbus Day? If so, in what way(s)?

October the 12th is Columbus Day in America and Spain, yet here in Canada it is our Thanksgiving holiday. We of course, celebrate it in the usual way you do with turkey and all the trimmings...but sadly, we do not celebrate Columbus Day even though we know through our historical findings, that Columbus's voyage to the New World in 1492, lead he and his 3 ships passed Newfoundland (hence the name new-found-land) before sailing back home. As a Canadian, I think WE should celebrate this man's great adventure as well. After all, we ARE part of the Americas. I feel that we can always co-celebrate Thanksgiving with the U.S. in November. For now I say, let's give this great explorer his due come Monday. So then...what will you do to honor Columbus on Monday? cdrxo
