Is your cat afraid of household items and other stuff?

My cat is afraid of the silliest things, pore baby he's afraid of my hair dryer for some reason I guess that he doesn't like the sound of it or something, and he's afraid of other things like vacuum cleaners and other stuff too, is your cat afraid of household items and other stuff?
Now I know where the expression fraidy cat comes from.
