As I told you my daughter moved back home a few months back. Ever since I have notice that we go thru toilet tissue like we are eating it. In my house there are now 4 people. Myself, my hubby, and the two girls. My husband is strange. After he uses the bathroom(bm) He takes a shower. No matter what! So basically its me and my two daughters using the tissue. When it was me and my younger daughter we would use a role every 4-5 days. We wiped our bottom. My older daughter moves home and we now go thru at least a roll a day. YEP! one rol per day. Yesterday around 6 a.m. I bought a roll of tissue. My younger daughter was alseep I went pee once. At 10a.m. I swear to you there was a half of roll already gone. I dont mean to sound petty but since she's been home I have had to purchase a snake and a industrialized plunger just to push thru tissue. WHen I say anything she says I have to wipe. Now if she doesnt have any feminine napkins she'll roll about 6 yards of toilet tissue. I know sometimes these things have to be done but come one I am unemployed and so is she!Try to help out! She must literaly cover her arm up to her elbow. I am so sick of complaining. My hubby went and bought a 12-pack of tissue. It lasted 5 days. Yes it was probably lesser amount of tissue on each roll but come on. I usually buy the thousand sheet and still the same. What should I do? What would u do? Help me out myLotters? Thanks dl

That is a great idea. I am not trying to be cheap but I think my daughter may be wiping her tweenie with her entire arm up to her elbow. I swear she wraps the tissue up to her elbow. She doesnt get that its a waste. I used to spend maybe $12 per month on toilet tissue. Now that she's here, I spend at least $1-2 a day on toilet tissue. I cant afford it ! I have tried talking to her but she thinks everyone is against her. I am at this point! Tuff luck!

hi dloveli well me and my roommate go through a roll about every second day or so, but we are both on diuretics that make you pee an awful lot so it is to be expected. What should you do? Well you could suggest she use just enough to cleanse herself and not overdo it, that is what I would say were I you. Also you might suggest she get some wet ones to cleanse herself with. they are not expensive.

Hmm.. Why don't you try to buy an attach on bidet instead? We use that here at home and it really saves a lot on the tissue. It splurts water to your bottom and is very hygienic. You don't need the bidet seat, you just need to attach that in your old toilet. Try to look for it. We don't use tissue anymore because I use towel to wipe my bottom dry (because all the dirt has been cleaned). As for the daughter thing, I guess old habits die hard, so it's really difficult for her to adjust and regardless how much you croak your complaints on her, I guess it'll take time before she does get the point and start to change. Perhaps a lesser quality type of tissue (at a cheaper cost) would suffice. Buy a cheaper kind to put on the comfort room and buy your old brand for yourself and your other daughter. I know it isn't fair, but at least she'll know that she has got to contribute in that family somehow.

Sorry to laugh, but this is too funny. This reminds me of one of my roommates in college who would always buy an industrial sized case of toilet paper from Costco every month. I also wondered why he needed so much toilet paper. He also had a fascination with canned corn. So when it was his turn to shop during the month he would come back with corn and toilet paper. One day my other roommate saw him walking in with the cases of toilet paper and canned corn and exclaimed, "Great, now we can eat corn and toilet paper sandwiches." We didn't have any food in the house but my roommate didn't care because he was free to wipe and eat corn. As for a solution to your problem, maybe you should buy sandpaper and leave it in the bathroom. Just kidding. Just ration the toilet paper and tell your daughter that she is only allowed two rolls a week. So, once she runs out she will have to find another way to wipe.

Maybe talk to your daughter about buying her own if she cannot limit her use. It's not that expensive, I'm sure she'll be able to afford it. Plus, it will teach her some responsibility. I personally go through only one roll a week, and I use it often because since I drink a lot of coffee, my bladder tends to be super active.

I can go through toilet paper really fast myself, but I also know that one day soon (hopefully) my husband and I will have our own house and have the responsibility of buying the toilet paper so I try to limit the amount I use. I know that I do use a lot to wipe my butt, but can use the same amount to wipe my front too! I would talk to her about using smaller amounts or not using toilet paper at all, seriously! Maybe she would change her habit then!

In our home it's just the hubby and I. we are full time RVers and our son uses only the campground bathroom as he doesn't like the one in the camper. I would say that we go through about a roll every 4 - 5 days. (well unless someone gets a runny nose or something and then it's more but that's expected)

Be sure to always have enough on hand - Toilet paper, the necessity for life
This discussion makes me laugh, because it reminds me of my mother... For most people who have lived during the depression way back in the 20-30's..they now make sure they have plenty of the necessities in their home, in case of another depression. Well, for my mom, the one necessity she makes sure she has, is toilet paper. The woman cannot live without having 5 to 6 roles in her house at one time. As soon as it goes down to 4, she's screaming for us to go buy her more.On another note, I have a friend who is a nurse..and she said that the worse thing we can do, is to wipe, and wipe, and wipe. Apparently we are wiping away all the nutrients that our bodies need down there, and it would make you sucseptible to infections. It used to happen to her mother all the time, until she finally had to tell her that that one or two swipes is enough...

Hi dloveli Oh my gosh...I go thru a lot of toliet paper in a weeks time. I have never really focused on how much I use. It seems that I am in the bathroom alot here lately. I think it has something to do with the coffee intake..LOL..Now that you have started this discussion I will pay attention to just how much I do use..Have a great day...
