I have found that it is becoming all the more important in these modern times to be very swift and alert in our day to day tasks . Multi-tasking is becoming the way of Life . Do you feel that multi-tasking is an Art which not everyone can possess ? If it could be learned then what can be your idea of learning it fast and becoming a successful Multi-Tasker ?

Multitasking is a learned art, some people pick it up right away and very easily but others have to work at it. If you really want to learn to do it, it takes patience. First, figure out what you can do at the same time - watch tv and correct homework, carry on a conversation and clean the house. These are things most people can do at the same time, so you are on your way. When you are doing something at home or at work, add something simple to what you are doing. Stuck on hold? Pick up something else to do, make sure you can bookmark where you are - with a note or a sticky - any way you need to. Then when they pick up on the other end, put down what you are doing and continue with your conversation. Just start small and keep it up - you can do it.

I fully agree with your viewpoint of start small and keep going. Art is to be learned and practice makes one perfect , however it takes time but slowly and steady wins the race . Thanks for your response . Have a nice time.

Well start taking interest in things around you and do small activities . It helps . Although for multitasking your mind should always remain uncluttered or you will mess up everything. But yes in today's it pays to be Jack of all master of none .

My idea of multi-tasking is having a machine do a job for me while I do another. I have yet to succeed in multi-tasking though.

Hello :) What a good question. I think school is where we first learn to multi-task, as there are various subjects for which we must do homework and tests and such. And then, for me, becoming a parent turned me, of necessity, into an even better multi-tasker. I suppose both of those experiences lead me to believe that the fastest way to become a multi-tasker is to aim our sights on a life of variety, responsibility, and then applying ourselves to doing each facet well. Again, good discussion! Karen

You're welcome. I like discussions that make me think or where I learn of how others see a particular thing :) Have a great day. Karen

Hi , :-) , Thanks a lot for the appreciation . I fully agree with you that the first place to learn Multi-Tasking is our School . I am experiencing same type of necessity of Multi-Tasking but with a higher degree and that needs lot of hard work . It seems that a person has to be extra alert to embrace the art of multi tasking fully. I have been very much inspired by your words of appreciation . Thanks . Have a great time .
