The location of a user makes no difference to me at all. I am very much aware that we are all citizens of the world and the fact that someone is in a certain place rather than another is not important at all to me.
That is also misleading information unless you read it for what it is - location and NOT place of birth. Mine says Italy which is where I am but I am not Italian.
I do look at their profile but only to get some idea of what they discuss and what their age group might be so that I know whether I wil be adding a new neice or nephew or a person of my own age.

Usually when someone requests to be my friend, it depends on how long the person has been a member here, and if I am familiar with their postings and then if I am not really familiar with them, I will go and check out their profile and see what type of discussions they have started and who some of their friends are, and then decide from there. Since I am not really interested in some of the catagories why would I want to be friends with someone who might talk about things I know nothing about? Personally I feel when adding someone to my friends list it should be someone I can get to know and relate with, and respond back to their discussions from time to time as well. So if someone has something in common even if they've only been here 1 week and active here, I will add them and hope for the best for them from there.

I don't choose my friends based on where they are from. I do check their profiles first to kind of get an idea of what kind of person they are though. How they have responded to discussions in the past and what kind of discussions they start. I also look at friends that we share.

For me it really depends. Sometimes I'll check out the persons profile to see if we have anything in common or to see if maybe there is a reason they decided to add me as a friend - such as if we commented on the same discussion or something. If someone only has like 1 or 2 posts and is trying to add me as a friend, I don't always add them because a lot of times it's someone who has just joined this site to spam you with their referral links. I've learned from that one in the past. I don't discriminate though when it comes to adding friends.

hi friend, i folow some steps while adding friends.
1. i check his/her profile to observe his/her activities. what was his/her last time of log in.
2. i want to make friends from all countries. so in this case it is considered as an advantage.
3. sometimes if someone send requests then i accept it just giving a look to their profiles bcoz i dont want to disappoint them.
thanks.
