This is an old saying, I think. I agree that when our minds are idle, silly thoughts come in and make our brain a breeding ground for evil acts. What strikes me is why the tendency is always to the negative? Is this natural? Why can't good things dominate our thoughts and think of positive ones? Any opinion?

manong05 that is just plain hooey , in order to create most' things people have to sit and think, so a lot of times the fundamentalist christians felt that these people were just plain idle, and idleness was to them sinful, they would have found fault with a number of writers, and artists and other creative people who sat idly while thinking up great creations these were in deed good thoughts and good art work.

As many generalisations, this is not necessary true. For exemple, yo know Salvador Dali, one of the most famous painters in the Art history, he receives a lot of ideas from his idle mind that inspired him some of their best works
