The recent disaster caused by Typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng in the Philippines really had a huge impact on our country. Many people died, suffered, lost their homes, and stuff, but what about the animals? It is really heart breaking to think that there were hundreds of animals stucked by the leashes who died of drowning and other causes during the calamity. It is fortunate that there a number of groups like PAWS and their international affiliates that conducted and is still conducting animal rescues. The images and articles I found in the internet really made me teary eyed, I hope more animals become happy, also their follow up missions on the welfare of the animals who cannot be provided food by their owners due to loss of property, money and resources, I hope they would be able to reach most parts of the flooded areas. And I am really thankful people like them exist.

Oh that is sad indeed. I too am greatful for ogranizations such as PAWS that go try to help the animals. Any loss in situations like this is tragic human or otherwise. The difference is humans have the ability to talk and say I need help, or this is where it hurts but the animals don't so it's a very good thing that there are people looking out for them.

ey kabayan, those typhoons were really devastating, I was fortunate enough not to experience the fury of both typhoons since I was not in manila during that time. only saw the aftermath on television and through internet, but it's a good thing lots of help poured in to the victims, but what about the animals?I was able to ask that myself because I remember when Katrina struck the US, there was an organization that took care of the animals that was left behind by those who were evacuated. these animals were rescued and were taken care off until they were returned to their rightfull owner and it's a good thing that we have the same kind of group of people who are willing to exert effort and spend money just to save these animals, I hope more and more people will become aware that these are helpless animals that also needs our help specially in those kind of calamities.
