Do you enjoy Christmas now or was it better when you were a child, I have 10 grandchildren and for reasons I won't go into they don't come over at Christmas but as there are so many of them anyway it would and has in the past been a lot of hard work so I think I prefer it with just my older son and my husband as it is a lot more peaceful what about you.

i like christmas and the things that go with christmas but i find christmas to be a really busy and stressful time. we usually get time off during the holidays from work which is really good but trying to fit everyone in over the holidays can get busy.

Yes it can get stressful and hectic, with buying presents and making sure you spend time with family and friends. My husband and I haven't done much shopping for family, but we're just newly married, and hopefully this year we can shop and get our family members something nice.

My grandmother doesn't do Christmas either. It used to be we would all go to her house to celebrate, I'd even go the day before but most of the time the day of before anyone got there just so I could watch or help her with cooking, etc. Now though she doesn't celebrate the holiday, and though we've tried to get her to she won't. I was going to ask her about it today but I doubted she'd actually agree to doing it again. My husband and I celebrate it with his parents and family. We just now started talking to my dad's side of the family again so we may go see them around the holiday if not on the holiday. We plan to go to my dad's house for Thanksgiving if we can, I think he'd really like that. I love Christmas, I think it's a great time of year, and I love decorating the tree and just generally having a great time with family. I love giving and getting presents too, I think it's always fun to receive something new for the holiday season.

That sounds like a bad situation, I hope that your daughters are alright, and your grandchildren as well. I am sure that must really hurt to not be able to see your daughters and grandchildren because of their husbands!

The reason we don't have our grandchildren round is the men my daughter's married (they are both brothers) do not like us because they bully our daughter's and we voiced our opinion about it and now they don't come over at Christmas.

I'm not a fan of Christmas anymore. The holidays kind of drive me crazy anymore. They're so boring, so blah and just another day. I feel terrible that the magic of the holidays is gone. It really bugs me. I wish I was able to have more fun during the holidays but I can't figure out how to. It's pretty much lost.

why don't you put up a christmas tree and either make the decorations or buy some and see if that helps getting into the feel of christmas again.
