Does anyone has read the book " The God of Small Things"

Hi Friends,
I would like to read some interesting books, some one advice me to read "The God of Small Things". Could anyone tell me the plot about this book, becoz I only know about it is that the writer of this book "Arundhati Roy" won booker Prize in 1997.
Recently I have started reading books, I do't know about good author and good books.

Okay, my daughter had urged me to read this novel. I will begin tomorrow. If I get done soon, I will tell you the story. But if you have a copy, why not begin reading too? Then let us exchange comments...

I don't have the copy. That's why I asking that how's it, so that I purchase it.
Now I am reading a book of a famous financial guru "Robert Kiyosaki", "CASHFLOW Quadrant", it is very interesting and eyeopener book, But anybody before reading it must read the other book of him is "Rich Dad Poor Dad".

I am in the first few pages. Roy writes like Dickens. I like her, so far.
