Well, I don’t know about other places, but here in Missouri it’s been getting awfully cold lately. Cold enough in fact that the other day (Saturday) I had my first cup of hot cocoa of the year. I only drink it in the winter when it’s cold and I know that when I start drinking it, winter isn’t too far off. We’ve had quite a few days of overcast, dreary, cold weather and it just seems like winter is sniffing around the door. I don’t mind winter b/c I just hole up indoors and don’t go out unless I absolutely have to. Has it been cold where you are? What is your favorite drink for the winter? Do you think winter is far off where you live or is it peeking around the corner? When you butter your toast, do you leave crumbs in the butter??? Hello , Kansas has been colder than a witches kiss lately. My winter drink is the same as my summer drink. I Love my hot coffee. I have certain special coffees that i like better in the winter than summer. I think winter is about to kick un in the butt really hard very soon. We just moved back to our old farm house to discover that someone had stolen our wood heater . So untill we can get stuff replaced we are using electric heaters.

Hubby drinks a lot of coffee but I prefer hot cocoa. It's too bad about your heaters...thankfully we have electric heat so we're good for the winter. !!Happy Halloween!! ~~AT PEACE WITHIN~~ **STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS**

Oh, that reminds me! My grandfather likes cocoa and I still owe him a birthday treat! I'll have to get a nice assortment and hide it away from the great grands.

The signs are definitely here. I am not ready!! I hate driving in the snow, and don't care for the cold. My son is in a wheelchair, so that means we do alot of staying home.

here in MD we turned our heat on for the first time yesterday. Without the sun shining it was chilly, we didn't turn it on until 4 p.m., so that wasn't too bad. We have a pellet stove so it warms up fast. It is off now because the sun is shining and it did get to 70 degrees today. My favorite drink is hot coffee. I drink iced coffee in the summer and hot coffee once it starts to get cold.

We still have the windows open a little bit just to get air moving around while we still can and I'm trying to hold off on the heat as long as possible but it isn't far off. !!Happy Halloween!! ~~AT PEACE WITHIN~~ **STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS**

Yep it is starting to cool down here too. I just got back from taking my sister-in-law to St Louis to get her cancer treatment and it was only 45 when we went by the bank. I heard the weather man say, the other night (Monday) that the temps would be about 20 degrees cooler than normal for this time of the year. I guess we are in for an early winter. I am getting ready to move, as soon as the apt is ready and I hope the rain holds off till I get moved. I hate moving in the rain. I drink the same in winter as all the other seasons, but I would have to say Milk is about as good as it gets. Warm apple cider is not bad for the cold wintry evenings. BTW, where in Missouri do you live? I'm right smack dab in the middle of the state, myself.

I had one year that I moved on Halloween day and it was snowing...that was horrible. Thankfully we've seemed to have settled down now and have been here for 3 years now...I've been able to not only unpack but start decorating. BTW, I live in Southeast Missouri towards Springfield. Hi twoey I hope that you can stay nice and cozy for the winter. Here in KY it has been cooler than normal. Today we are having a overcast and suspose to get some rain. The temperature is about 60 with it being the last day for this kind of temp. The weather man is saying that this will be the warmest day for the next week. I have my coffee every morning and with the winter around the corner I see more coffee in my near future. I do like the occassional hot cocoa. Is I leave crumbs in my butter only to try and dip them out for the next round..LOL Have a great day my friend..

Seedums - At this time of the year they are usually a deep pink color.
But not this year. Ugghh!
It hasn't been warm enough here in Minnesnowta for rain for a long time at night. This is a shot of my seedum flowers. A fall bloomer. They are usually a beautiful dark pink this time of the year. But Monday they became snow covered after 2 inches of snow fell. In the 20's at night. I love MINNESOBRRRRR HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

I likes coffee. Winter is close, which means global warming is not real... otherwise we would be on da beach watching da bikinis instead of holed up. When you leaves crumbs in the butter you have that great toasty taste that keeps on giving 'till the butter is gone.... May the crumbs last long!

Prescott: nature's nut hut -
Prescott can't make up it's mind if it wants to be summer, winter, or somewhere in between regardless of what time of year it is.
I live in nature's nut hut. * Prescott can't make up it's mind if it wants to be summer, winter, or somewhere in between regardless of what time of year it is. You could be wearing your warm stuff in a windy rainstorm in August or you can be having a BBQ at Thanks Giving or Christmas. Then the next day, the white can take a dump all over your garden... so go figure.

It's been cooler here lately than it has been for quite sometime. We've been getting a lot of rain, that's for sure. I like rain but I get tired of so much of it. A lot of people have been sick due to all of the rain. I've been having a lot of headaches on account of it. I have a lot of allergies, anyway.I went to the doctor yesterday and he gave me some medicine for it. Plus, I felt like I was getting a urinary tract infection. He said he didn't see any infection but he did see some blood in my urine and he thought it might be the start of one. He put me on some antibiotics and I'm feeling a lot better now. I didn't mean to get off the subject but getting back to the signs of winter, the leaves have been falling a lot, which means Fall is here. Winter is just around the corner. I don't particularly have a favorite winter drink but I used to drink cocoa all the time to help me sleep better at night. I had to cut back on my caffeine intake, though. I've been drinking a lot of green tea here lately so that might become my favorite winter drink. Yes, when I butter my toast, I leave crumbs in the butter, lol. Kathy.

Hi twoey, Winter here in the UAE is fast approaching, hopefully we can have it earlier this year. As summertime here is longer, everybody is awaiting for winter to come. We are all tired and exhausted of summer heat and humid air. At home, our all time favorite drink on winter days is hot chocolate and a hot butter toast. I don't leave any crumbs on the butter when spredings as I make thin slices of butter and spread it on top of the bread before toasting. Cheers!

Yes, I do think that winter is around the corner for us. We are in the Northern Hemisphere and its changing into Fall/Winter. I notice that the weeds and other garden plants are slowly dying off and the tree leaves are changing color and starting to fall off.

Well here in sunny Queensland, we are just about in the middle of Spring but it is already quite hot. We don't have a big difference, temperature-wise in our seasons. Winter is seldom cool enough to wear more than a light jacket in the daytime, but a woolly might be necessary at night. The BIG difference between our summer and winter is the humidity. It is 6.00am here just now and while the temp is only 27*C (80*F) the humidity is already 90% so the fan is going to try to keep me DRY. Tomorrow morning I am driving north into the tropics - a 12 hour drive - so I am thankful for a car with really good air conditioning. My favourite drink is ginger (pure ginger, not ginger tea) and I drink it all year round, but especially in the cooler weather. I have two cups of coffee every morning and after that I usually drink water. I don't butter my toast.

I was actually thinking about Hot Cocoa meaning winter was coming around soon. I haven't drank any yet, but it's been around the fifties here lately. I can't wait for winter myself, I love to watch it snow, or just to be bundled up next to my hubby! Of course, I don't want it to snow unless We're all safe at home and can stay at home. Hmm, We do have Flannel Pajamas out and wear them for bed, but to tell you the truth I'm sweating in them! lol! Of course, I can also have the fan on in winter, so you can't judge it by me! I get cold, though... Skies are overcast really right now, but they have been a bit here and there.

Well I live in Oklahoma, not far from you, and its been getting cold here too, we've had alot of rain the past few days and I think that's why its been colder. I don't drink cocoa, or coffee or anything hot, but we do start eating chili and stews about this time, and last week I made my first pot of chili for the season. I know its getting to be winter time when we start eating alot of chili, its easy and it warms you up. I think winter is peeking around the corner, it is almost Halloween, and to me thats when it starts getting cold. I try not to leave crumbs in the butter..haha

LOL I don't use butter either but Hubby does. I kind of lost a taste for it when I found out that it is made up partly of a plastic substance. The same thing happened with gum. !!Happy Halloween!! ~~AT PEACE WITHIN~~ **STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS**

HI Twoey: I had forgotten you lived here in Missouri too what part do you live in I forgot?? Yes its been awfully chilly/and down right cold here of late; I had to break down and turn on my heat the other night and too I have one of those nice Amish made fireplaces, I LOVE IT!!! But for me to be this cold already I don't know how I'm gonna get through the long cold parts of winter you know? For me I HATE this time of year as I am usually sickly, achy, and just mega depressed via the weather we have; oh yeah sometimes I get crumbs in the butter (G)!! Then I fuss at myself, why do we hold our toast over the stupid butter dish?? LOL!!! oh yeah I had my first cup of hot cocoa too the other day I drink it all winter long as I do not like coffee or tea I wish I liked tea but I just don't;

HI Twoey; AAhhh!! You live down in the more "stormy area" of Missouri then I see, (not good)!! I've never been fond of Hot apple cider myself for some reason I liked it more when I was a kid but I don't care for it anymore; its another rainy, chilly dreary day here again, counting the minutes until I can go fall into bed and take a nap..LOL! Good weather for it! Love & hugs, don't let those Halloween goblins get you (G)!!

Yes, it's getting cold from day to day here. The winter is just a matter of time. I don't think I'm ready to welcome it. =) Proper heater, thicky jackets, and long-handed sleeve are ready to protect me from this coldness. =) And we are expecting that snow might fall down here. Speaking of drinking, I really enjoy drinking a cup of hot chocolate during winter! It just makes me feel a little bit warmer. =)

My Mom always has a fit with me in the winter. I hate wearing a coat so I end up just wearing a big heavy flannel shirt. I can never find a coat that fits me right and is comfortable. !!Happy Halloween!! ~~AT PEACE WITHIN~~ **STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS**
