What happened to those good old "briefcases"? no longer fashionable?

I used to use them a lot before but now they are collecting dusts in my cupboard. It's just some people make fun of them. They think it's rather old fashioned to use a briefcase.
What do you think?
Have you used them before?
Do you think it's out of fashion now?

My dad still uses a briefcase, but it's not your standard briefcase like the box shape, but his new one is leather and he uses it everyday. A lot of people where my dad works as briefcases because they bring files home with them and whatnot.
