Ok, now while I was in the car this morning doing my errands I dont usually listen to the same radio station like I use to years ago, I am a station surfer and this morning I was listening to this discussion between these DJ's and I couldnt stop cracking up ....people probably thought I was nuts but it was just so funny!!!! Now the female DJ was talking about how she was venting to her boyfriend the night before and in turn he was trying to stay with the conversation.... and giving his opinion on the matter....only she didnt need to hear his side, she was basically just venting about an issue. Now comes the funny part.... the Male DJ said "then you were having what people call a conversation"...and she said she didnt need to hear his side, she just needed to get it out and be done with it... Now the Male DJ said "Dont you have girlfriends for that?" and the female DJ nearly lost it because that is exactly what her boyfriend said the night before.. So hence my question/discussion..... When you vent do you just need to vent and get it out or do you need someone to discuss it with and try to get a resolve out of it?? When someone is venting with you....do you listen to it and agree with that person, or do you try to keep up the converstation part and come up with a reason behind it??

When I vent I just need someone to hear what I am saying.....to bounce it off someone else. Usually if there is a problem I can hear myself explaining the situation I can usually come up with my own resolution....and same goes when someone wants to vent with me.....I just listen unless asked specifically for advice.

It is funny to think that certain people can acknowledge the difference between a converstation and a vent....and some people try to actually come up with a solution... thanks for the response and have a great day!!

too funny! I have heard that before also. When I vent, it is just to vent but guys especially feel that they have to do something to help or make things better. My ex would get so so frustrated if I came home from work after a rough nite and vented anything about my night. I couldn't understand it because I wasn't taking it out on him or even angry or upset. I just needed to vent. Finally he told me that he just felt helpless because he didn't know what to do. I just laughed and told him that I never expected him to do anything....maybe a hug would help. I pretty much learned that my women friends were better for venting with. They would listen and add their own vents. We'd get it out and be done with it.

Isnt it funny!!! I was laughing so hard in the car because of course they had to keep up the talking and by the end she was saying things to him that he said "wow I feel like you are breaking up with me and we arent even going out!!" Yes, men always have to fix things...so they figure they have to work it out for the women and then find a solution to fix it when all we want to do is just get it out!! thanks for the response and have a great day!!

When I vent, I usually need to discuss it with someone and try to get a resolve out of it. When someone is venting with me, I listen and agree with the person. I would probably want to hear the other person's side of the story and come up with a reason behind it. I hope that makes sense, lol. Kathy.

yes it does!!! I think woman are better listeners and we can console and help out with the venting by just allowing the other one to get it out...to where a man would try to fix the problem!! thanks for the response and have a great day!!

i have just rad from a book that GUYS are not comfortable when GIRLS are crying on their shoulders or just venting their feelings because they don't know what would they do...that's the difference between Men's and Women's world.
