I have windows vista, and I use basic AVG for my virus protection. I think I also have windows defender. I am not very computer literate so I am thinking I don't have enough computer protection. What I need to know is do I need to add a spyware and malware removal protection? I read about a couple free ones such as Malwarebytes,Spybot, and Ad-ware. Have you tried any of these what's your opinion.

Hey, I have a great solution for you. Microsoft Security Suite. Its a free download (its in beta stage) www.microsoft.com/Security_essentials Some reviews claim that this is even better than NOD32(a software i currently use, and Im going to decide to switch and try out microsoft's) Hopefully this heps you out!

I have tried of the anti virus/anti spyware that you mention but i more confident w/ the malwarebytes it really removes spy wares from my pc. i heard also avast is really good why not try at for your self.. Download avast restart your pc into safe mode and install avast,it will run a boot-time scan to get sure to detect known virsus and malwares while they are inactive.. after it finishes, you should download Spyware doctor-Free edition you will find it on http://www.download.com ,it will make your system clean of the spywares and malwares which Avast and other antiviruses cant detect,Spyware doctor will provide you an on-time guard for your system against spyware threats. For being more sure that your system is clean, you can download Malwarbytes antimalware and SUPERantispyware, they r both free, you can find them on http://www.download.com they will work as On-demand scanners ,but they will be very helpful in detecting any malwares on your system.

Use ESET SMART SECURITY FOR YOUR VISTA PC. It has the highest virus detection by any of the ANTIVIRUSES(http://en.wikipedia.org/ESET_NOD32_antivirus#reception). iT UPDATE ITSELF ONCE AN HOUR AS WELL HAS IT OWN ANTIVIRUS. For malware scans, malware bytes is the software to go its a freeware and can be downloadfrom http://www.download.com.
