Do you believe that the world is about to end in 2012?

I have heard this rumor years ago. I don't know if I gotta believe it. It has been indicated in the Bible, yes. Maybe what's holding me back is the reason that I don't want it to end yet. And now, there is a movie that talks about this..
There are things that I haven't accomplished, and would want to achieve. I surely hope this is not true.
Do you believe about this?

Well I also read a lot about it. And after I finished to read everything I realize it is a really stupid thing. Ok, first i am not christian and I don't belive in the bible, so that is the first thing. Second in many years I listened so many of those news. I remember, for example, that something like on 2000 there was a rumor that the planet would have been finished in summer but...it seems we are still alive!=)
Third I can give a scientifical answer: there are no experts that are telling us this. And yea, sometimes we should listem them instead of losing time beliving people that maybe just want to make some money selling books and gadgets.

Well, there had been scientific explanations, and the news was not just from people trying to sell their movies or books.
It is something explained that the Mayan calendar predicted December 21, 2012 the climax of polar depolarization or something like that. They have explained that the the earth would rotate, north will turn into south and vice versa.
I respect your opinion though.. Just wanted to give out the facts, at least something that I have read in the daily newspaper.. ^_^

Yea I appreciate your answer, and that is nice that we can open a discussion so that we can male this forum better and we can also learn something new from each other. Talking is a good way of nonformal lerning, also Socrate said it, and therefore it was one of his main topic in his philosophy. But that is another thing;)
I read about in a blog that is from an Italian writer and he criticize all that, giving the reason why he does it. He is good, he is called Paolo Attivissimo but unfortunately his blog is just in italian (but it also have some english abstract if you are interested into it). Anyway, for what I learn in the school, this thing that you say, of the rotation, is a normal and really slow thing that happen since the heart is the heart and shouldn't make us worry.
And yea, I'm 19 and I'd like to see more of this world and discover more in my life;).

Well, this rumor had been around years after the 2000 big hoax crap. i believe this is happening all over again, another big hoax, probably a lot of writers have earned big time for people buying and reading their crap books. i will never believe in it because God gave us a mission here and only a few had actually done their job (am not one of them

Everyone says it so but i don't believe it, something similar happened in 2000 but the world didn't end back then and what about the XXX thing which was quite popular few years back. Nothing as such happened so i think it is just rumors nothing based on facts.

I don't believe its going to end. We don't know when the end of the world is going to be. If you read the Bible, it doesn't tell when the world is going to end, it does say that when it happens we won't know until it happens. The Myans don't even believe that the world is going to end on that day. Its just a rumor. Don't even worry yourself with this subject. Its not going to end until God says so.

I have heard the rumors as well. I haven't really looked into it though. There always seem to be rumors about the world ending. I remember in March of 1996 I was in tenth grade, and there were a lot of people who had world ending parties. I dn't want it to end either for my children's sake. I want them to live past 9 and 7. I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens.
