Does FaceBook have a Filter option?

some one told me that he thought that facebook had a filter option for your wall to where you could choose which friends saw what. now where i know there is a filter option for things like your email addy or phone number so that you can choose who or if anyone can see it but i have looked and dont see an option for your wall.. is there a filter? how do i get to it? or is there no way to post on your wall and update your "wall" "thoughts" and "apps" without everyone that is your friend seeing? i didn't have a reason to look till now lol.. i always kept my profile on private but don't want relatives to see everything im up to etc.

I think thats what adding people to alimited list does but im not sure. I tend to not use facebook very often.

I also heard that and there are a few people that have it on their face book so others can not see those kind of details,but i would not know how to do it.I did have a look and i can not see how they have done this as there is no details on how to do it on there.
