what meat/veggie version for xmas dinner

we never have turkey coz i find it really expensive and there's not much meat on it,it's also very dry,we eat chicken instead,,What meat/veggie version do you eat at xmas

You don't find much meat on turkey? My turkeys always get much larger than any of the chickens that i have. I usually have ham or turkey for the holidays.

i find that turkey is all bone with a thin layer of meat,useless for a large family,i've never had ham at xmas,i'll have to try it

My goodness. Where do you get your turkey from? I raised turkeys, and the last ones i sold were only a couple to three months old and weighed in the range of 25 pounds, and all that was meat. They have very large white meat, thighs, and legs.

Every year we have a turkey it is more like a tradition in our house.This year i am having dinner at my mums with my family so she gets to buy it.I hate cooking so that is me off the hook this year thank goodness.

my mum likes me to go to hers every xmas,which i find is ok but sometimes i'd like xmas at home,lazing around in my pj's and eating lots of chocolate

yea over in aussie we got the same problem! but usually ill find a 5kg box of frozen prawns, and save them till the due date, also i find that if you go shopping you can usually get a small amount of sliced turkey from the deli and hold on to it for a day or two, other than that its the old roast chook syndrome yea,..
