in the event of a malevolent alien invasion would sworn enemies join forces?

so as i have often said, there are some things that keep me up at night, or at least i think about them when i cannot sleep. hypothetically, if there is such a thing as aliens, if they chose to invade the planet, would enemies get together to fight the common enemy, 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend' and all that? would the muslims and christians and jews decide to put aside their differences and fight side by side?

I doubt it. I mean yeah, the aliens would serve as a distraction to keep us from pointing our weapons at each other; but there would still be the fact that Christians have a different name for the God than Muslims have, different from the name the Jews have, different than the one Pastafarians have, different from the name the Satanists have.
It's like Tinnitus (ringing ears): maybe you DON'T NOTICE IT when you're having conversations and listening to music and the motor's runnin` etc., but it's STILL THERE underneath all the distractions waiting to rise up in your head when you're trying to have a silent moment....

this make sense to me however there were those in terminator, in the books that is who were anti-technology and they banded with skynet. they are the humans who helped to thin out the populace and infiltrate and kill others. somehow there are those out there who would be foolish enough to think that they would be exempt from the extermination. they think that they will never outlive their usefulness.

When I thing of aliens, I always picture them a lot better than men. No wonder because we are a shame. I hope aliens would not only have better technology (to be able to come here) but also be superior to man in spirit.
Besides, I think we have aliens among us.

true but there is the flip side then may be as mean as all hell, then what. i wonder if i would have it in me to even fight them. who knows, maybe to defend my niece yeah. i would be more worried about other humans turning on my as the resources run out.

I actually asked myself the same thing as you did: which one would side up with the aliens :))) I think they would all try, hahaha! OK, maybe not all people would rather be friends with an alien... I know my grandma would be scared shitless of the little green man, and would rather eat from the same plate with a muslim or a gypsy than an alien. But that's my grandma, she hates the ultimate unknown!
But I would actually love to have a chat with the green man. That's cause I don't believe in alien invasions, of course.

Man is selfish and struggles for survival and when the issue of survival comes it takes precedence over every other priority be it ones dignity, prestige or whatever. If the need arises that one has to join ones enemy in order to survive he will do it but on an adhoc basis as once the objective is achieved he will be back to square one having the same amount of enmity, animosity forgetting that they helped each other in order to survive!!!

ahh but what if after the aliens are done there is not much of a human population is left, and there is the need to propergate the species or else we'd become extinct.
