Do you think Paramore's vocalist sounds alike Avril Lavigne?

I'm not much of a fan of Avril Lavigne but when my boyfriend started listening to Paramore when we first heard it on the airwaves, I told him that she just sounded like Avril Lavigne. My boyfriend was contesting that she does not. HAha! But I just looked at her hair and how she dresses up, kinda like Avril in the early days. What do you think? Hey I like Paramore now, of course big difference is that it is a band and Avril is just Avril. Though I also like some of Avril's songs and her bad side image and outfits. How about you? Which of the two do you like or you think that they are the same in some ways?

Not quite. They have that difference in their manner of singing. Considering the music they play, there's a heavier touch to the riffs of Paramore compared to Avril's alternative and poppish sound. I'm not a real fan of any of them but I do dig them, they're both pretty. Heh heh. But I do think there's a bit of similarity with their fashion sense.

Yup, more pretty points definitely go to Paramore. Heh heh. Oh my, they're going more poppish now? I like it better when they were more Emo having those heavier riffs while they were starting out. And I haven't been listening to new songs lately so I'm rather stuck under a rock. =) You could find songs for download using those peer-to-peer software like Limewire, Bearshare and the like. I usually go for torrent where I could download full albums and some hard-to-find ones. You should try it sometime. =D

nah she kinda reminds me of lacey from flyleaf, except lacey's vocals are more pure and she sounds pretty awesome live, she brought the house down when they opened for papa roach a few years ago. http://www.myspace.com/flyleaf

I would not want to tag a date worst or what. Everyone has differences, I may call it funny or interesting instead. =) I only had a few dates and had 4 boyfriends so far. They were all dateable and enjoyed each one of them dates. =) Haha! But the funniest or you can say worst date I can share is when I met up with someone I met online. Haha! We were chatting for like 2 weeks and then we decided to meet up at Starbucks. it was my first time so I brought my friend with me. We met up and talked for a while. I ran out of things to say so I just had to say goodbye. Cruel huh? haha!

Avril's not bad for fun but I love Hayley's voice. She's definitely got a star quality to her, in her voice and her style. I haven't seen Paramore live but my friend has several times and she says they are very good performers, Hayley especially. "That girl can rock," I believe were her exact words 
. But I have seen Avril live (on TV anyway) and she just kind of hid behind her mic stand...very disappointing.
I read somewhere that Avril was originally signed to be a country singer but her label decided that, in concert, she would be better received by a rock audience.

nah i definitely think that they're not similar...they're just in the same category of music that is punk rock...i really like both of them...Hayley's voice is so amazing and she can reach those high tones...and Hayley is much more beautiful XD...well Avril is pretty too...Avril seems to be more girly now..in the way she dresses...but she's still the punk princess i guess..^^..rock on\m/

I could see how someone could think they sounded the same, but I don't particularly think so.
Avril seemed more pop-ish to me, with out seeing her person I wouldn't think of it as "rock" so much.

I think there are some similarities, but I like both artists and think there are some subtle differences. I love Avril's first album, but think that her more recent stuff is more pop music than anything. Paramore still has somewhat of an edge that Avril used to have. I think Paramore's lead singer sounds more like the girl in Flyleaf actually. What do you think?

Hi redphile,
When I first heard paramore singing Twilight's movie theme (the first installment) I thought it was Avril Lavigne. But if you hear the song closely you will find the difference. Their lead vocalist have a more higher voice range and I think it is more powerful than Avril. She is more edgier I think. And I like their songs as well.

I thought so too. When I first saw Paramore, she looks like Avril. I even thought she's her sister. Her style is like Avril. Well anyway, after hearing their music, they don't have the same voices. I can distinguish if it's Avril or Paramore. I think both of them are OK.

Hi redphile: I don't like Avril Lavigne nor Paramore but i think they sing in two different ways that we can really compare them. Even thought, they're both horrible. Lol. XD
