Ladies Day

I was out of town this past Saturday so I didn't get a chance to mylot any. I hear I didn't miss much, though, because I heard mylot was down. The reason why I was out of town was because I attended a Ladies Inspirational Day up at Falkville Church Of Christ with some ladies from where I go to church. Falkville is a little town about five miles from Hartselle, which is a little town about an hour north of Jasper. Several congregations of the Church Of Christ hold these ladies days about once a month. I have attended several of these in the past and they are always very enjoyable and we meet a lot of people. One of the ladies who attends this particular congregation used to worship with us when she lived in Jasper and we mainly went to see her. What we do at these ladies days is what the men mainly do in a regular worship service. One of the ladies will welcome the audience. Then, we will have a prayer. After that, we will have a bible reading. Then, we will sing. After the singing, somebody will introduce the speaker. There's always a very good speaker, too. Our speaker Saturday was Becky Honeycutt and she spoke on "Losing Weight In The Christian Race". Then, we had a break, in which we had orange juice, coffee, and different kinds of cookies. I was very glad we had this because I had eaten a light breakfast. After the break, we had prayer, bible reading, singing, and bible reading again. The same speaker spoke on "Staying Firm In The Faith" this time. We had closing remarks and prayer again. Then, we had lunch in the annex. The food is always good, of course. How many of you ladies have ever attended a Ladies Inspirational Day? Are any of you a member of the Church Of Christ?

Great to read your post here. Sounds like a real fun time.
A day well spent for sure. I don't belong to your faith and so, have never been to a Ladies Inspirational Day. But it sounds absolutely wonderful.
It's almost like a nice get together with a message.lol
Good speeches, good food, prayer, nice people, great vibe all around, what more can one ask for!?
I loved the topic of those speeches too...very relevant.
Just curious.. what did "Losing Weight In The Christian Race", have to deal with?

Yes, we had a lot of fun. I wish I could tell you what "Losing Weight In The Christian Race" had to deal with but I can't remember everything she said. There are always some good speakers but it's always hard to remember everything they say. I have a program but it doesn't give the speech details. Kathy.

I attend the United Pentecostal Church, but we have ladies get togethers within our region at least 2 times a year, and then we have a Ladies convention with all of WA state ladies once a year, and these are great things to attend if I can for sure. It is quite inspiring to get together with ladies from around the region getting time to talk and get caught up and enjoy a little fellowship with a great Christian message and speaker as well. You can never go wrong fellowshipping with other Christians for sure.
